NEW 2009 CLASS:

MAKING DUI CANNABIS ARRESTS—A DR. MICHAEL DRUMM EXCLUSIVE!
This one day course is for patrol officers and supervisors who want to learn how to recognize the specific and unique clues of drivers under the influence of cannabis. Eye clues, physical mannerisms, and other distinct signs and symptoms indicating cannabis use including the pharmacokinetics of THC will be covered .  Report writing and arrest protocols for 625 ILCS 501 (A) (4) and (A) (6) arrests are featured in this very dynamic training class by Dr. Drumm.

DESIGNER CLUB DRUGS
Ecstasy did not disappear -- it's just morphed into dozes of other drugs as highlighted by the 2009 over doses involving DMT analogues. This multi-media presentation focuses on synthetic drugs formerly associated with the Rave dance movement but now found in adult night clubs such as Ecstasy (MDMA) analogues, Super-G (GHB) analogues, Special-K (Ketamine) analogues, Double Stack (PMA),  Fantis-i (2Ci), Nexus (2C-B), Eu4eh (2 C-T) and many more.  Includes police surveillance video of people high on ecstasy and several GHB overdoses, along with dozens of pictures of the drugs, paraphernalia, and users of designer club drugs. Includes an exclusive video interview with a 2-Ci overdose survivor.

CURRENT TRENDS IN DRUG ABUSE
This one day course addresses the latest trends in substance abuse, including the dramatic shift towards recreational prescription drug use and addiction known as "Poly-pharming." Special emphasis will be placed on new state drug laws, drug user demographics, concealment techniques, and enforcement recommendations. Drugs to be discussed include:
- Black tar heroin, Cheese, narco-pops, OxyContin, and Fentanyl
- Stimulants: Ice, Cat, Yaba, and cocaine
- Over the counter drugs of abuse: DXM (e.g. "Pink Snurfs"), and Diphenhydramine
- B
otanicals: Salvia, Kratom, and Woodrose, Yopo.
- New forms of cannabis such as Delta-6 THC, "Firecrackers", and Green Dragon

This class is ideal for any patrol officer, investigator, or supervisor working in school resource, DARE/GREAT, Stand Tall for Drug Free Schools, crime prevention, narcotic, or gang divisions.

SPONDING TO SCHOOL DRUG IMPAIRMENT CALLS
This is the police version of our new one-day school drug impairment recognition, documentation and testing class, but edited for police officers.  Designed especially for School Recourse Officers, Juvenile Officers or any police officer responding to a school  in-progress drug impairment incident.  The legal issues surrounding police drug enforcement in a school setting and drug testing impaired subjects will be included with the recognition training.  Special impairment documentation forms and a model school substance abuse policy and procedure are included with the bound text book.

CONDUCTING POLICE STING OPERATIONS
This one-day class is for police supervisors responsible for conducting compliance testing for tobacco or alcohol laws. The multi-media presentation covers national policy and court rulings on proper sting operations. As a state certified police training course, it was chosen by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission as a state-wide training program and presented in Texas, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. A 92-page bound text book and CD with three PowerPoint programs accompanies this class.

TOBACCO AS A GATEWAY DRUG
Ninety-two percent of adolescent marijuana users are regular daily cigarette smokers. This seminar highlights the Woodridge, Illinois experience in controlling youth access to tobacco which resulted in a 70 percent reduction in youth smoking and a significant reduction in illicit drug use as documented by DePaul University, based on Sergeant Talbot's United States Senate testimony.

BROKEN WINDOWS: THE ANCILLARY BENEFITS OF YOUTH ACCESS ENFORCEMENT
This program was featured at the  National Synar Enforcement Conference and makes the connection between adolescent access to cigarettes and community crime rates. Research from DePaul University is highlighted showing that a high-level of youth access enforcement corresponds with a lower overall community crime rates! The program explains what the various connections are between adolescent cigarette use and community crimes in regards to the famous "Broken Windows" theory of policing.

DRUGGED DRIVER DETECTION FOR PATROL OFFICERS
This three-day State Training Board certified class gives the police patrol officer the tools necessary for recognizing the drugged driver as opposed to alcohol impaired driver. The class features a multi-media presentation, including video of real drug-impaired drivers undergoing field sobriety testing as well as a complete presentation on the pharmacology and physiology of illicit drugs. A 167-page bound text book accompanies this class.

DRUGGED DRIVER DETECTION INSTRUCTOR
This is a five-day version of the above class and also includes two days of student teaching and instruction on the theory of adult learning. The program includes copies of all PowerPoint slides
and videos.

STANDARDIZED FIELD SOBRIETY TESTING
As the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's class for patrol officers, the class can be offered in a special one-day re-fresher for up-dates on the changes implemented in February 2000, a three-day certified class featuring video or live alcohol dosed demonstration subjects (recommended), or a five-day instructor level course is available.

STANDARDIZED FIELD SOBRIETY REFRESHER
This special one-day version of the above class includes a complete review of the proper procedures for conducting roadside field sobriety tests and the common tactics defense lawyers employ to challenge the police officer's testimony at a DUI trial.  Especially helpful for police officers who were trained in SFST prior to 2000.

MEDICAL MARIJUANA: THE MYTH
This special presentation, which is suitable for workshops or luncheon and dinner speeches, features the truth behind the claims of advocates of marijuana as a medicine. The presentation is based on government published scientific facts. This presentation is one side of the story you have not heard in the popular press sound-bites.
